Nevada Continuing Legal Education and CCM Trainings
The Purchasing Division is pleased to offer free Nevada Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses for state and local government attorneys. Please register for available courses through NEATS. CLE Credit for CCM courses may also be available (6 credit hours for recertification, 10 for certification), please contact Purchasing General Counsel with questions or concerns (Counsel can manually register government attorneys who do not have NEATS access or provide materials for past courses that were missed). Credit requests are pending for January 2025 CCM trainings. We are happy to provide attendance certificates and any needed materials for other credit forms upon request.

Certification and Recertification for State Contract Managers
The Nevada Certified Contract Manager (NVCCM) program is required pursuant to the State Administrative Manual (SAM) for State of Nevada employees whose responsibilities include soliciting quotes/proposals from vendors or managing agency contracting activities. The course is designed to cover more complex aspects of State contracting, with an emphasis on the service solicitation and contracting process under the State Purchasing Act (NRS 333). A score of 75% or better on the exam is required for certification. Once certified, participants may request Basic Purchasing (BP) access to NevadaEPro for solicitations and CCM access to the Budget Division’s Contract Entry Tracking System (CETS) for contract submission. Recertification is required every two years.
All State executive branch employees and officers are invited to take this course, especially if their job responsibilities include procurement or contracting related functions. Legislative branch, judicial branch, higher education, and local government employees and officers are welcome to attend as well; while these groups do not follow the State Purchasing Act for their procurements, most State Purchasing policies and processes can serve as a guide for any Nevada governmental entity.
The dates and registration for Certified Contract Manager
Initial (CCM-I) and Recertification (CCM-R) classes are available in the Nevada
Employee Action and Timekeeping System, NEATS. The CCM-I initial course is
two-days, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day. The CCM-R recertification is
one-day, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. If your agency is a user of NEATS, please
register there (https://neats.state.nv.us/).
If you agency does not have access to NEATS, please contact State
Purchasing via email for assistance.

Note: in light of the legislative session, it is likely that no further CCM courses will be offered until late 2025. The Las Vegas trainings will have at least 80 seats available and the Carson City trainings will have at least 50 seats available. No virtual trainings for CCM are provided in line with the Governor's mandate regarding in-person work, however, disability accommodations are available upon request.
The Essentials to State Purchasing training is now available online. The course is located in the State of Nevada Online Development Center at https://nvelearn.nv.gov/moodle/, located under Purchasing Systems and Procedures, Essentials to State Purchasing.
This comprehensive course will benefit any employee responsible for purchases for their agency. The class covers the rules and procedures of the commodity purchasing process, as well as outlining agencies' responsibilities of managing their personal property/fixed assets. All State employees responsible for purchasing commodities and managing fixed assets are strongly encouraged to take the course and it's a quick refresher for those who have taken the training in the past.
Advantage Requisitions and Receivers and Advantage Fixed Asset Training

The training class for Requisitions and Receivers and Fixed Assets is now available online. The course is located in the State of Nevada Online Development Center at https://nvelearn.nv.gov/moodle/, located under Purchasing Systems and Procedures, Advantage Requisitions and Receivers and Fixed Asset Subsystem.
The Advantage Requisitions and Receivers and Fixed Asset Training courses provide hands-on training of inputting agency requisition and receiver documents into the Integrated Financial System, along with table navigation and maintenance of orders. The Advantage Fixed Assets course will take you through maintaining and updating your agency's inventory online through the Integrated Financial System.

and eligible buyer travel program management, you can attend any one of four
sessions in the month of October.
